We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Service Technician - Chemical Water Treatment Specialist to join our client’s operations at a luxury island resort in Queensland. This unique opportunity is ideal for a skilled technician to take responsibility for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of water and wastewater treatment systems, with a strong focus on chemical dosing and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring effective water quality management, environmental compliance, and the efficient operation of treatment systems, while also providing support for broader site infrastructure needs.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Conduct hands-on installation and commissioning of chemical dosing systems
- Test and analyse water quality; recommend and apply appropriate treatment solutions
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and fault finding on treatment equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues as required
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate logs of system performance, service records, and compliance documentation
- Monitor and service wastewater and sewage treatment systems in line with environmental regulations
- Ensure the reliable operation of pumps, filters, tanks, and dosing systems
- Assist in broader infrastructure and utilities support across the resort
- Travel to additional sites, if required, to support remote operations and system servicing
Required Skills and Experience:
- Relevant trade qualification or certification in Water Operations or a related field (preferred)
- At least 4 years of relevant experience is required, including a minimum of 1 year of full time hands on experience in chemical water treatment, wastewater management, or sewerage plant operations and servicing
- Proven experience in installation and servicing of chemical dosing systems
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Sound understanding of environmental regulations and commitment to safe work practices
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in remote or isolated environments
- Flexibility to travel to other sites or locations as operationally required
This is a full-time, permanent role offering a unique opportunity to live and work in a remote island setting while contributing to vital water and wastewater infrastructure.
