Role Responsibilities
You will carry out routine maintenance of generation assets at the Channel Island Power Station on a day-to-day basis.
Your accountabilities include:
1. Conduct on-the-ground operations work, including routine plant inspections, minor equipment isolations,
equipment lubrication, routine tests and identification, investigation and where possible rectification of plant
defects.
1. Undertake operational and technical commissioning tasks while working with engineering teams and other trades.
2. Undertake routine and shutdown maintenance works including housekeeping.
3. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders from a multi-disciplined workforce
(Outage Planners, Operators, Electrical staff, Contractors etc).
5. Liaise with contractors coming on site and ensure relevant permits are issued and complied with to maintain the
safety of personnel on the site and to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the power station plant.
6. Work in a team carrying out the training and mentoring of apprentices and guide other staff to reach their
potential.
1. Participate in a 7-day, day work roster.
2. Carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation's safety, environmental and quality policy, safety
principles, corporate values and strategies.
Selection Criteria
Essential
1. Relevant AQF Cert III (Trade) mechanical qualifications or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
2. B Class Gas Licence (or the ability to obtain B Class gas licence)
3. Demonstrated ability to identify and rectify defects and abnormal operation conditions in plant and generate defect
reports ensuring that information and accuracy of defect is of a high standard.
4. Demonstrated competence in the area of workplace safety and commitment to safe work practices.
5. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills which result in effective team membership and contribution
to workplace objectives.
6. Sound ability to work in a Permit to Work system that ensures safety to all personnel and ability to work
unsupervised yet still maintain constant interaction with operational staff.
7. Well-developed computer literacy.
8. Have or be able to obtain an NT driver's licence and participate in a 7-day shift roster and in an "on-call" capacity.
9. Ability to carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation's safety, environmental and quality policies and
corporate values and strategies.
Desirable
•
1. Experience in large scale heavy industry environments.
2. Experience with Industrial Gas Turbines, preferably in a Power Generation Environment.

• The successful applicant will be required to provide a national police check. A criminal history will not exclude an
applicant from this position unless it is a relevant criminal history.
* The preferred candidate is required to undertake a pre-employment medical, and employment is conditional on
the outcome.
