About the Role
Teys Australia is seeking an experienced New Product Developer to join the Teys Australia Food Solutions (TAFS) team based at our Morningside facility in Brisbane, Queensland. The successful candidate is responsible for developing and executing Teys Australia's new and existing product development initiatives across the TAFS Business unit.
Reporting to our QA and NPD Technical Manager, the position will manage and execute the development and launch of multi-protein value-added products according to customer requests and market analysis, while maintaining business best practices.
Other responsibilities include:
* Organise testing of product samples for external analysis (e.g., shelf life, NIP values, allergens) in conjunction with QA and NPD Technical Manager
* Facilitate the development, preparation and approval of product specifications
* Conduct internal and customer product sensory sessions to ensure alignment of flavour and taste profiles to customer and consumer trends
* Collaborate with Commercial and Marketing teams to deliver product presentations
* Maintain accurate documentation, including costing, scheduling and production process flows
* Support creation of product portfolio aligning with Commercial, Strategy and Marketing teams
* Report on performance and adjustments across the full product life cycle
About You
You must have the following experience/skills:
* Qualifications in Food Science or equivalent.
* 3 + years experience in product development within FMCG.
* Proven project management skills.
* Familiarity with the essentials of management accounting costing processes.
* Knowledge of Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), food labelling & allergen regulations, state legislation and international requirements.
* Sound understanding of ingredient function and application, experience in product formulation and meat and smallgoods processing.
* Sound understanding of packing materials, and their limitations/ suitability for different types of products.
* Attention to detail, high level of computer literacy, and a proficient report writer/presenter
Desirable:
* Experience in working with major retailers such as ALDI, Coles and Woolworths, including their platforms and systems.
* Experience in use of iLeader document management system.
* Experience in labelling, nutritional panels, and use of the online VITAL tool.
* Experience with value adding quality systems.
