The Role
ALS Geochemistry is seeking Sample Preparers to work in our Sample Preparation section at our Orange – NSW facility. Sample Preparers operate machinery that crushes, splits, and pulverizes mining mineral samples for laboratory analysis. This role requires previous production experience and flexibility with availability.
Key Responsibilities
* Handle rock, core, and drill chips
* Operate sample preparation equipment, including crushers, pulverizers, splitters, and weigh scales
* Perform routine manual tasks, such as lifting and being on your feet all day
* Numerically sort and label samples
* Wear mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator
* Work as part of a team to achieve daily production targets
This is a residential role requiring relocation to Orange - NSW, with current Australian work rights necessary for consideration.

* Be physically and mentally fit to perform repetitive manual tasks
* Show reliability, responsibility, and excellent attendance
* Have good verbal and written communication skills, particularly with numbers
* Follow instructions and procedures accurately, including safety protocols
* Maintain high attention to detail
* Demonstrate honesty and integrity, treating others with respect
* Be willing to work hard while prioritizing quality, safety, and productivity
* Adapt to a dusty, noisy environment with varying temperatures and hazardous substances
