END USER COMPUTING SPECIALIST

The Role
As part of Saab's IT group, the Senior Client Platform Specialist/End User Computing plays a key role in developing and sustaining Saab's enterprise client platforms and endpoint management systems across Saab's classified and unclassified computing environments. You will contribute to the design and development of creative and innovative solutions that align with Saab's architectural principles and strategies, ensuring appropriate solutions are delivered that support Saab's operational needs.
As a senior member of the Client Platforms team, you will provide support to the Client Platforms Team Leader by coordinating team tasks and activities, and when required, represent the team on behalf of the Team Leader.
Responsibilities
* Assist and support the Client Platform Team Leader with:
o Coordinating the Client Platforms team tasks and activities.
o Licensing and relationship management with all vendors of current Infrastructure hardware and services.
o Representing the Client Platforms team in IT operational meetings (e.g., CAB, Team Meetings).
o Training, mentoring, and developing other team members.
* Support system installations, problem‐solving, and testing to ensure availability, validity, and reliability of Saab's computing environments.
* Design, implement, and sustain Saab's Enterprise Client Platforms and Management Systems.
* Work with and liaise with business and project teams to develop suitable solutions across a varied array of technologies.
* Liaise and maintain working relationships with key staff, projects, and third‐party partners to drive solution outcomes.
* Troubleshoot and resolve assigned incidents and/or service requests while ensuring prompt professional service.
* Work, communicate, and cross‐skill with other members of the Client Platform team, and where appropriate with the greater IT group.
* Create and maintain current state operational documentation.
* Report and communicate with IT Management on key issues and task outcomes.
* Actively participate in regular operational meetings as team and business needs dictate.
* Travel domestically to other Saab offices as required.
* Seek opportunities for continuous improvement by driving efficiencies across all Client Platform technologies.
About You
* Demonstrated experience in a senior role, or similar, leading and/or supervising an operational team.
* Hands‐on experience within a Client / End User Computing platform support team, supporting corporate and/or development client platforms.
* Broad knowledge and experience deploying, administering, and managing enterprise SOE.
* Technical understanding of virtualisation (VMware vCenter, ESXi, Citrix VDI), endpoint control/management systems (Application Control, DLP), scripting languages (PowerShell), networking services (IPAM, DNS, DHCP, 802.1x), and mobile/app management technologies (SCCM, Microsoft 365).
* Experience supporting laptop, workstation, telephony, and video‐conferencing technologies.
* Experience with Linux technologies (Debian, CentOS, Red Hat) is advantageous.
* High‐level problem‐solving skills, including the ability to obtain and interpret information and make specific recommendations.
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Proven experience in managing business change through ITIL processes.
* Knowledge of cyber‐security best practices and compliance.
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities, tasks, and requirements.
Security Clearance – A defence security clearance is required for this role; applicants must hold Australian Citizenship and an Australian Defence Security Clearance NV1/NV2 level.
