Senior Finance Analyst, Sydney/Singapore (9 months FTC)
Join Pacific Life Re as a Senior Finance Analyst based in either Sydney or Singapore. This 9‑month full‑time contract involves supporting the Manager and the Financial Management Team with day‑to‑day operations, including accounts payable, monthly/quarterly closing, and reporting.
Job Description
Background
This role can be based either in Sydney or Singapore. The purpose is to assist the Manager in the day‑to‑day operation of the Company, supporting the Financial Management Team by managing the accounts payable process and assisting with monthly and quarterly closing of accounts.
Duties
Account Payable Management
* Processing of weekly payments to meet invoice terms including reinsurance client payments, staff reimbursements and intercompany transactions
* Vendor system maintenance (PeopleSoft) and supplier relationship management
* Management and resolution of general Accounts Payable queries, including organisation and management of central inbox
* Liaising with banking partner (ANZ) and maintaining banking system
* Preparation and processing of internal bank transfers and reinsurance payments
* Corporate credit card expense and accounts management
* Maintenance of internal controls surrounding payments and receipts
Monthly/Quarterly Closing and Reporting
* Management of operating expense to support decision making
* Preparation and posting of quarter end expense and accrual journals
* Preparation of Australia Payment Times Reporting for regulatory and Board reporting
* Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy of reported balances
General
* Ensure conformance and compliance with internal policies and guidelines, regulatory requirements and regulations; monitor and flag new compliance requirements to manager
* Provide support to the wider finance team and business by managing and participating in ad‑hoc tasks and projects as required
* Manage and maintain efficient processes to support systematic and organised audit trails
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Experience
* Degree in business or accounting
* Proficiency in Excel
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to think analytically and strong problem‑solving ability
Desirable Experience
* PeopleSoft experience
* Online banking experience
* General accounting knowledge including Accounts Payable, reconciliation skills and experience with journals
