Join to apply for the West Region Alternative Delivery Lead role at HDR. HDR is seeking a West Region Alternative Delivery Lead within the Power Sector, Power Delivery Practice to be part of our national Alternative Delivery (AD) Leadership Team. The primary focus is to drive collaboration across HDR's global power delivery staff and construction partners, mitigating engineering risks in AD projects, and to lead planning, pursuit, management, and delivery of power delivery AD projects in the electric transmission, substation, distribution, and renewables markets.

Responsibilities
* Provide leadership for elevating the power delivery AD program within HDR's West Region, spanning multiple states.
* Partner with business development, operations and technical leadership to develop new opportunities, markets and staffing plans.
* Drive teaming agreement negotiations with potential construction partners aligned with HDR's goals and initiatives.
* Lead and drive development of a power delivery FEED team to evaluate and mitigate technical risk prior to and during Go/No-Go evaluations.
* Collaborate with technical teams to review AD project intel, opportunities and RFPs to estimate technical investments before Go/No-Go.
* Assist in Go/No-Go discussions, project risk assessments, SOQs, proposals, interviews, and negotiations as required.
* Develop scope, schedule, and budget with pursuit teams, focusing on AD-specific activities and risks (procurement support, construction support, critical path scheduling, etc.).
* Provide AD best-practice guidance to pursuit and project delivery teams.
* Collaborate with regional operations leaders, market sector leaders, practice leaders, project managers, commercial managers and project teams to deliver high-quality engineering, environmental, real estate, geospatial and construction support services for power delivery AD projects.
* Drive development of AD project teams, including AD project managers, technical leaders, project controls and commercial managers.
* Act as a senior advisor during AD project execution, providing project delivery support including contract administration and management.
* Serve as Project Manager or Engineering Manager on select power delivery projects, including AD and traditional design-bid-build deliveries.
* Provide oversight of production sections including staffing, recruiting, quality, utilization, workload forecasting, work-sharing, safety and morale.
* Mentor and develop other employees.
* Perform other duties as needed.
* Report to Power Sector Alternative Delivery Director.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in related field
* 10 years related experience
* A minimum of 5 years of project management experience
* Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software
* Ability to interact with various design teams and strong organizational, project management and communication skills
* Commitment to employee-owned culture
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
* Minimum 15 years of power delivery experience
* Minimum 5 years building and/or managing engineering teams on EPC projects
* Strong leadership and multi-site remote team management experience
* Understanding of contractual risk and mitigation strategies in AD models
* Experience managing projects, client relationships, proposals and business development
* Self-starter with strong writing and communication skills
* Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and collaboration skills
* Proficient with Microsoft Office and conferencing platforms
* Position requires up to 30% travel
* Professional Engineer licensure or DBIA certification is preferred

The compensation range for this role is $118,703 - $245,000 depending on experience and location.
