As a regulator of the legal profession, our key role is to license lawyers and oversee service standards and conduct. This includes handling complaints about lawyers, investigating poor conduct, and overseeing management of trust accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Investigate complaints into lawyers' conduct and fitness to practise, including disciplinary issues
* Related litigation and alternative regulatory responses
Requirements:
* A good understanding of legislation interpretation and application
* Admitted as an Australian Lawyer or eligible for a Victorian Practising Certificate
* Some experience in investigations in a relevant environment, such as litigation, accounting, regulation, or policing, and/or experience as a legal practitioner in private practice, regulation, or government prosecutions
