Overview
As a Learning Designer at Melbourne Online, you will design and develop high‐quality, pedagogically sound online subjects across multiple disciplines and at scale. You will work collaboratively with academic teams, Senior Learning Designers, Media Producers, Graphic Designers, EdTechs and Content Editors to ensure each course meets the University's educational standards.
Responsibilities
* Develop Canvas courses: build high‐quality online subjects, ensuring alignment with Melbourne Online standards and objectives.
* Create engaging content: write, storyboard and develop instructional materials for learning modules in Canvas, deciding on content delivery and integration of multimedia elements.
* Collaborate with Production and Technology teams: create engaging learning materials, including videos, graphics and interactive elements.
* Technology integration: build content in Canvas and utilise technology to enhance the online teaching and learning experience, incorporating interactive features and multimedia elements.
Qualifications
* Hold a relevant qualification and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training in Education, Instructional Design or a related field.
* Demonstrate end‐to‐end experience designing and developing high‐quality online subjects across multiple disciplines and at scale.
* Create structured content maps, storyboards and documentation that translate academic material into engaging, accessible online learning experiences.
* Apply contemporary learning design principles, methodologies and pedagogical approaches, including assessment integrity strategies for online environments.
* Build, maintain and enhance subjects in Canvas LMS, confidently using tools, integrations and accessibility, copyright and QA standards.
* Manage competing priorities in complex stakeholder environments, collaborating effectively while taking initiative and ownership of deliverables.
* Must have current valid work rights for Australia. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
* A Working with Children Check is required for all positions.
