The Role
Reporting to the Manager Strategic Planning, this position forms part of the unit leadership team. The Coordinator will assist in the development and delivery of strategic planning and urban design projects and respond to the current and future needs of both the organisation and the community.
Overseeing strategic planning and urban design projects alongside planning scheme amendments, the successful candidate will also manage a team of officers and assist with the day-to-day running of the unit.
The wider unit of Development Facilitation supports flexible ways of working and the successful candidate can expect a supportive working environment.
About You
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will be an urban planning and/or design professional with broad ranging technical and leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to provide advice, guidance and direction to staff.
Key Selection Criteria
* Tertiary qualification in Planning, Urban Design or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams to deliver effective strategic planning and urban design projects, policies and programs, including Planning Scheme Amendments.
* Proven ability to lead a team to ensure a positive work culture and work collaboratively and enthusiastically in a sensitive and confidential environment, providing leadership and guidance to individual officers
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated success in developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships across a broad range of stakeholders, including successful delivery of consultation programs.
* Proven project and financial management experience with the ability to manage contracts, staff and consultants, deliver projects on time and within budget and prioritise and manage a demanding day-to-day workload.
* Demonstrated experience in the presenting in public forums
