Hidden behind the infamous sliding barn door in Mermaid Beach lies one of the Gold Coast's most iconic dining destinations, we are a modern Japanese restaurant known for its moody, intimate atmosphere, exceptional share style dishes, creative cocktails, and high-energy service.
We're now seeking an experienced and driven Chef de Partie or Sous Chef to join our beloved team. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, care deeply about hospitality, and want to be part of something special this is your opportunity.
YOUR ROLE
The key responsibility of this role is managing the day-to-day operations of the the sections and the kitchen, with a focus on developing the team, staff training, achieving targeted food and wage costs while maintaining a high standard of food quality, hygiene & presentation.
To be successful in your application, you will have:
* Proven experience running a section as a Senior Chef ideally (Asian cuisine or hatted expertise will be a plus)
* Strong abilities in training, mentoring and developing young chefs
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Passion for creating quality and consistency in every plate put out
* Overall knowledge of all operations, ordering, stock control and working to budgets
* The want to grow and develop your career
