Administration Officer (Specialist Outpatients Department)

Gladstone Hospital is a 70-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including Emergency, General Medicine, and Surgery, basic Orthopaedic, Clinical Investigation, Obstetrics, Maternity, Gynaecology, High Dependency and Coronary Care, Palliative Care, Medical Imaging, Pathology and Paediatrics. Additional services include Mental Health, Alcohol and other Drugs Service, Oral Health, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Speech Pathology, and outreach/community-based facilities, as well as a Primary Health Care Centre located at Boyne Valley.


About the role:

To provide an efficient and effective client focused administrative service to specialist consultants, staff and patients who utilise the services provided by the Specialist Outpatient Department(SOPD). This position provides a high level of customer service, demonstrating understanding, empathy, patience, and a positive attitude within a team environment.


About you:

* Competent in the use of contemporary word processing, spread sheeting, database and other information systems (e.g. HBCIS, ORMIS, ESWL and SOPD systems) ensuring accuracy and attention to detail whilst meeting relevant standards (e.g. SOPD implementation standard and elective surgery implementation standard).
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the possession of tact, diplomacy, and discretion in dealing with staff and the public.
* Ability to establish work priorities, work with a high level of accuracy, meet scheduled timelines, work autonomously or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrated ability to work within a team and adapt to a changing work environment.


What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $97,656 is comprised of:

* An hourly rate between $38.81 - $43.16 p.h.
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
* 17.5% leave loading
