About the role:
Our Federal Government client is seeking an Operations Engineer to join their Environment Operations team within the Salesforce Environment Management Directorate on a 12-month initial contract. Reporting to the Deployment Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational activities that keep our Salesforce environment healthy and available for developers across multiple initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Execute scheduled and ad-hoc sandbox refreshes, manage synchronization across environments, and coordinate refresh activities to support development timelines.
* Conduct daily health checks, monitor Salesforce-integrated systems, manage issue triage, and maintain dashboards to ensure platform stability.
* Perform deployments using CI/CD pipelines, validate and smoke-test deployments, manage rollbacks, and maintain deployment logs and scheduling.
* Load and anonymize test data, manage data refresh cycles, provision test users, and troubleshoot access issues across environments.
* Respond to environment support requests within SLAs, liaise with Salesforce support, update SOPs, maintain configuration documentation, and assist in audits.
* Triage and resolve environment-related issues, conduct root cause analysis, identify process improvements, document manual steps, and support automation initiatives.
Required Skills and experience:
* Demonstrated experience in Salesforce administration or operations
* Strong knowledge of Salesforce sandbox management and refresh processes
* Hands-on experience with Salesforce DX (SFDX) and CLI commands
* Experience with deployment tools and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
* Understanding of Salesforce metadata types and deployment components
* Ability to execute scripts and use command-line tools effectively
* Must be an Australian Citizen or possess baseline clearance
