Your new role:

As Payroll Specialist, you will be required to process fortnightly and monthly payrolls across the Group within required time frames, ensuring accuracy and compliance; respond to all payroll related queries promptly, demonstrating the highest level of customer service; support Finance and HR teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Process end-to-end payrolls (weekly, monthly, out-of-cycle) using MicrOpay & ESS within portfolio.

Update employee master files as required. – utilise the notes & significant dates function to ensure that all updates are detailed, onboard new team members into MicrOPay & ESS.

Using MicrOpay, process the pay runs including any additional payroll components such as workers compensation payments, STI's, paid parental leave payments, child support, salary packaging, rate or salary increases etc.

Finalise pay run reporting and payments, ensuring deadlines are always achieved.

Prepare internal and external payroll reporting promptly at each month end, within timelines required by the Finance team.

Complete payroll end of financial year requirements including reconciliations, reporting and software updates, ensuring compliance and deadlines are achieved.

Support annual WGEA reporting.

Ensure accurate month-end reporting, reconciliations, and payroll adjustments.

Handle complex pay components including enterprise agreement allowances, leave entitlements, workers compensation and terminations.

Act as a first point of contact for all payroll-related queries.

Collaborate with HR to onboard new employees, manage documentation, and support WGEA reporting.

Provide back up payroll support to other team members within the Group.

Support payroll audits and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Work with the finance team for monthly and end of year reporting, and audits.

As an ideal candidate you will have:

Proven payroll experience in a medium-to-large organisation.

Payroll experience ideally with the SAGE and / or ADP Payroll systems.

Intermediate Excel and ideally some experience with ERP systems.

Strong working knowledge of MicrOpay, payroll legislation, and award and enterprise agreement interpretation.

Previous experience in a complex pay environment.

Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, collaborative approach.

High level of confidentiality, accuracy, and organisational skill.
