KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide academic support to Koorie students both in and out of the classroom. – Increase Koorie student engagement in learning. – Create and maintain a supportive and culturally appropriate environment for Koorie students. – Support students who require additional academic assistance. – Establish relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders. REQUIREMENTS – Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity (designated position under Section 12 Special Measures). – Certificate IV in Education Support or Community Services, or willingness to obtain, or a combination of lesser qualifications and relevant experience. – Demonstrated experience in providing a supportive and culturally safe environment. – Understanding of Indigenous communities and the ability to identify the needs of relevant community groups. – Understanding of issues encountered by Indigenous students when entering a formal educational setting such as TAFE. – Ability to establish relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders. – Current Police Check issued no more than six months prior to commencement. – Current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee) or proof of application. – Current driver's licence (car).
