Global Resource Support is a locally owned WA business supporting mining and industrial clients across multiple projects throughout the state. With a busy period approaching, we are seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team for upcoming shutdown works, with the potential for ongoing opportunities for the right person. This position will involve onsite shutdown work as well as potential offsite work.
This role suits someone who is highly organised, confident in leading safety initiatives, and comfortable working across multiple work fronts in a fast-paced shutdown environment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for providing safety leadership across shutdown activities, supporting both onsite crews and, when required, offsite operations. You will ensure compliance with site and legislative requirements, and maintain clear and accurate reporting. You will also represent the business in daily and weekly client HSE meetings.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day safety support across multi-discipline shutdown work fronts
* Conduct site inspections, hazard identification, and incident reporting
* Oversee daily safety documentation, JHAs, permits, and compliance processes
* Attend daily/weekly client HSE meetings and communicate safety updates
* Ensure all works align with Section 26 and site-specific safety requirements
* Support supervisors and crews with safety coaching and guidance
* Assist with investigations and corrective actions when required
* Promote a strong safety culture and proactive risk management
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Safety Advisor or similar HSE role
* Cert IV in WHS (essential); Diploma WHS (highly regarded)
* Strong understanding of Section 26 and mining safety obligations
* Shutdown or mining industry experience (highly regarded)
* Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution skills
* Strong attention to detail with proactive hazard management abilities
* Ability to build rapport and influence safe behaviours across teams
