About the role
Become a key part of the team at our thriving French Bakehouse located in Somerville, Victoria. As a Bakers Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our skilled bakers to deliver high-quality, freshly baked goods to our customers every day. This is a full-time position that will see you immersed in the bustling world of artisanal baking.
What you'll be doing
1. Assisting bakers with all aspects of the baking process, from mixing and kneading dough to shaping, proofing and baking breads and pastries
2. Ensuring all equipment and work surfaces are clean and well-maintained
3. Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering of supplies
4. Packaging and labelling finished products for sale
5. Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a friendly, welcoming environment in the bakery
What we're looking for
1. A genuine passion for baking and a keen eye for detail
2. Some prior experience working in a bakery or commercial food production environment
3. Strong time management and organisational skills
4. The ability to work effectively as part of a team
5. A positive, customer-focused attitude
6. Australian work rights are essential for this position
7. Availability for shift work including flexible hours as required by bakery operations
