Service NSW is seeking experienced DevOps Engineers to orchestrate our software delivery pipeline and drive continuous improvement in our release processes that impact millions of customers daily.
About the Role
This role champions scalable automation, seamless tool integration, and continuous workflow refinement across dynamic environments. The engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining multiple SaaS platforms, ensuring operational efficiency through modular architecture and adaptable system design. With a strong emphasis on resilience, they apply diagnostic precision to troubleshoot complex issues and maintain robust, fault-tolerant workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of multiple SaaS platforms, including the Atlassian suite, observability tools, and incident management systems.
* Maintain and enhance the Observability Platform, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with security and operational standards.
* Automate deployment, scaling, and configuration workflows for supported SaaS tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual overhead.
* Integrate SaaS platforms into existing DevOps pipelines, enabling seamless collaboration and continuous delivery across teams.
* Collaborate with security teams to enforce organizational security policies and implement best practices across all tools and services.
* Continuously monitor system health and performance, leveraging telemetry and alerting to ensure reliability and responsiveness.
* Diagnose and resolve complex issues across applications, containers, networking, storage, and infrastructure layers.
* Partner with product and engineering teams to understand requirements, streamline workflows, and provide hands-on support for development and operations.
What You'll Need:
* Understanding of Alert and Incident Management
* Kubernetes experience (Good to have)
* Understanding of Splunk Observability Cloud, Splunk Cloud, Splunk ES (Good to have)
* Understanding of Observability tools (Good to have)
* DevSecOps experience, including Git (GitLab preferred)
* CI/CD pipelines experience (including some Terraform is preferred)

Salary Grade SNSW 5/6, with the base salary starting at $90,767 plus superannuation.
