The Shire of Dowerin has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and multi-skilled Building Maintenance Officer to join our Infrastructure and Projects team.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure and Projects, this hands-on role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Council buildings, facilities, and assets. Day-to-day work includes carpentry, painting, plastering, general upkeep, and coordinating contractors all while ensuring compliance with safety and building standards.
What we're looking for
We want someone who takes pride in keeping community facilities in excellent condition. You'll need to:
* Have strong practical trade or building maintenance experience (a relevant Trade Certificate is desirable).
* Hold a current WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence and White Card.
* Be reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
* Demonstrate sound knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and risk management.
* Enjoy variety in your work and the satisfaction of maintaining important community assets.
What we offer
* Salary: $66,670 – $77,656 per year (Level 4–5, Municipal Employees WA Award), plus allowances.
* Superannuation: 12% employer contribution.
* 9-day fortnight (76 hours).
