The Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Transport Operations Assistant to support our Transport Manager and play a critical role in keeping our daily transport operations running smoothly. This is not just another admin role You will be at the heart of our transport operations — coordinating job registrations, supporting delivery scheduling, reconciling documentation, and ensuring customer instructions are executed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities Include
Receive, review and action client delivery instructions
Accurately register transport jobs within our ERP system
Act as first point of contact for customer delivery enquiries
Support the Transport Manager with daily operational coordination
Reconcile driver run sheets against records
Review reports
Assist with reporting and invoicing as required
Identify and escalate operational issues promptly
What you will bring
You understand the pace and pressure of transport and logistics. You know that accuracy matters. You take ownership of your work and don't let things slip through the cracks.
Proven administration and customer service experience
Experience in a data-entry focused role
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience in transport/logistics systems (TruckSmart highly regarded)
Strong attention to detail and high data accuracy
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
The ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks
A calm, solutions-focused approach
A professional and customer-focused attitude
Confidence working independently and as part of a team
