AI is central to how we work. We have built proprietary AI systems that augment our team across campaign management, reporting, content production and strategic analysis. This is not surface-level. We run weekly AI training sessions internally and are constantly developing new ways to use AI to deliver better outcomes for our clients and our team.

We are now looking for a Senior Performance Marketing Specialist to take ownership of our paid advertising function and help us keep growing.

The Role

This is a client-facing role at the centre of our performance marketing operation. You will own Google Ads strategy across a diverse client portfolio, working alongside our account managers to deliver results. You will report directly to the agency director.

You will have a support team around you. This includes implementation specialists, an analytics and configuration resource, and dedicated conversion tracking expertise. Your job is to lead the strategy, direct the team, maintain quality and be a confident voice in client conversations about performance.

You will be working in an AI-augmented environment. Our internal AI tools handle significant portions of campaign monitoring, reporting and analysis, which means you can focus on high-value strategic work. But it also means you need to be genuinely comfortable working alongside AI and enthusiastic about pushing what it can do.

This is not a role where you will be buried in spreadsheets pulling data manually. You will be thinking strategically, contributing to client conversations and ensuring your team delivers results, with AI doing the heavy lifting on the operational side.

What You Will Be Doing

* Joining client meetings, quarterly strategy sessions and new business pitches as the performance marketing specialist. You will work alongside our account managers and be expected to contribute confidently on paid strategy.
* Owning Google Ads strategy across the client portfolio. This is the primary platform and you will need strong working knowledge of it.
* Building and maintaining direct client relationships, communicating via email, video and face-to-face meetings.
* Directing and mentoring the implementation team to ensure campaigns are executed accurately and on time.
* Proofing, validating and quality-assuring all campaign work before it goes live or reaches clients.
* Working closely with account management to align paid strategies with broader client goals.
* Conducting monthly and quarterly performance reporting and analysis, supported by AI-assisted reporting tools.
* Identifying opportunities for optimisation, growth and innovation across client accounts.
* Contributing to new business pitches and proposals where paid advertising expertise is required.
* Staying current with platform updates, industry trends and AI developments relevant to performance marketing.

About You

You are a performance marketer who thinks strategically, communicates confidently and is comfortable in front of clients. You have a strong foundation in Google Ads and you are excited about AI transforming the way agencies work.

Must-haves:

* Strong proficiency in Google Ads, including Search, Display, Performance Max and YouTube. You will have implementation support, but you need to understand the platform well enough to direct the work and advise clients.
* Experience managing paid campaigns across multiple clients simultaneously, ideally in an agency environment.
* Comfortable and articulate in client-facing settings, including meetings, presentations and strategic discussions.
* Ability to think beyond the day-to-day and contribute to paid media strategy, not just execute it.
* Genuine enthusiasm for AI and a demonstrable willingness to adopt AI tools in your day-to-day workflow.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract insight from data and turn it into action.
* Excellent organisational and project management skills. You will be juggling multiple accounts and priorities.
* Based in Melbourne with the ability to work from our South Yarra office on designated days.

Great to have:

* Meta Ads proficiency and broader paid social experience.
* Experience with GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Merchant Centre and Looker Studio.
* Familiarity with SEO concepts and how paid and organic strategies complement each other.
* Broader digital strategy experience beyond paid, including an understanding of how channels work together.
* Experience mentoring or directing junior team members.
* Agency background with exposure to varied industries and client types.

For context, our client base spans automotive, hospitality, finance, retail, professional services and ecommerce. Deep ecommerce or Shopping feed experience is not a requirement.

You do not need to be a developer or a prompt engineer. But you do need to be someone who actively embraces AI tools, is curious about how they work and is motivated to use them to deliver better results.

The Office

We work in a hybrid environment with a good balance of office days and working from home.
