We love staff who do their best and help shape and define why we are both working for GAVAL Community Services.Key ResponsibilitiesHands on role in ensuring all that the whole bookeeping function is done timely, effectively and efficiently such as bank and general ledger reconciliations, billing of clients and collection of accounts receivables, review of supplier invoices and payment of accounts payables;Build strong relationships with management team to understand their strategic goals and provide financial insights and guidance to support decision-making;Ensure that the company's accounting policies and procedures are in compliance with the applicable accounting standards and regulations;Collaborate with business teams to develop key performance indicators, track progress, and provide regular updates to the leadership team;Preparation of monthly financial reports and presentations to provide insights into business performance and support decision-making;Review, prepare and process the fortnightly payroll and staff reimbursements;Management and timely reconciliation of Clients funds heldPreparation and lodgement of monthly BAS,IAS, Payroll tax, workcover and other statutory requirementsPerform other tasks or projects as necessary or required by the roleExperience and Qualification:Essential:Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/FinanceExperience with Xero Accounting SoftwareExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong computer skills; advanced Excel skillsStrong knowledge of technical accounting, together with the commercial acumen to apply these practically in a growing environmentMust be able to display a practical application of this knowledge in bringing control and process improvement to the processes that are fundamental to the effective operation of the finance function within the businessExcellent organisational, analytical and conceptual skills and demonstrated experience in implementing change, including in financial policies, procedures and processes, across the whole organisationDesirable:Ability to meet deadlines and work autonomouslyStrong attention to detail and accuracyFinancial accounting background, preferably in NDIS Community Health CareBenefitsRewarding role in a supportive and fun team environmentProfessional development assistanceTravel ReimbursementDiversity and InclusionGAVAL Community Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
