About the Company
Our client is a well regarded civil construction contractor delivering projects across Western Australia. Their work spans infrastructure, resources, land development and public sector projects, with a strong pipeline that continues to grow. They are now seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join their commercial team in Perth.
About the Role
As a Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive pricing for a range of civil projects. You'll work closely with engineering, procurement and delivery teams, reviewing documentation, coordinating subcontractor pricing and contributing to high-quality tender submissions.
This position suits someone who enjoys a hands-on estimating environment and wants to work on diverse civil scopes within a supportive and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse drawings, specifications and project information to prepare detailed cost estimates
* Carry out quantity take-offs and compile Bills of Quantities
* Review project documentation for scope alignment, constructability and potential risks
* Prepare and coordinate tender submissions, ensuring all pricing components are included
* Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain, review and compare quotations
* Identify clarifications, scope gaps and prepare RFIs where required
* Support cost-saving initiatives, value engineering options and alternative methodologies
* Maintain accurate estimating files, databases and tender documentation
Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field (advantageous)
* 3-7 years' experience in civil estimating, cost planning or a similar commercial role
* Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, processes and market pricing
* Competent in estimating software with strong Excel capability
* High attention to detail, strong analytical ability and clear communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and work to strict deadlines
