This is a high-impact role with the ability to drive critical financial and commercial decision support across the business Role Overview Reporting into the Group Finance Operations Manager, this Senior Finance Analyst will be responsible for the clean up and operational efficiency of the critical inventory process for this large organisation. With over 3,000 SKUs and products on hands, this role will be mandated to bring efficiency, accuracy and confidence to the business when it comes to systems, process and data integrity. There will be some responsibility for preparation of month-end reporting and financial reporting. On a monthly basis, you will support to drive month-end close, complete Balance sheet reconciliations, accurate journal entries and provide analysis and commentary on your business unit's monthly results. Your technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills will ensure correct treatment according to accounting standards as well as ensure timely and accurate delivery of all reporting. This role will give you the opportunity to continue to develop your business partnering skills as you interact with a range of stakeholders across the company. Responsibilities • Lead and take ownership of critical inventory projects; including driving analytics and insights. • The accurate and timely preparation and processing of general journal entries for inventory • Delivery of inventory variance analysis and the story telling to the leadership team across the business • Preparation on monthly financial accounts for the Australian business • Reconciling P&L and balance sheet accounts with effective supporting documentation • Review expense line items and ensuring they are properly accrued and coded • Analysis and commentary on expenses and legal entity performance • Support the business in the execution of the annual audits and external reporting obligations • Supporting Finance team members with ad hoc projects • Work with Finance Managers to ensure adequate and relevant financial information is available to drive sales and efficiencies • Work ensure correct coding of invoices to the general ledger and identify areas where accuracy and efficiency can be improved. Candidate Profile You are highly energetic and proactive in your thinking. You are CPA, CA or CIMA qualified and have a passion for accuracy, detail and efficiency. Ideally coming out of a retail or FMCG organisation you will have exposure to a large inventory-based business with a strong understanding of a large P&L and high volume based SKU environment. With exceptional communication skills that you leverage in shaping positive working relationships, you are flexible in working through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
