All Locations, Australia | Posted on 31/03/2025Security clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline clearanceKey duties and responsibilities:The security architect will play a vital role within two key departmental design authorities: the Architecture & Design Authority (ADA) and the Technical Design Authority (TDA).
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in security architecture, with a deep understanding of ISM, PSPF, and IRAP processes, and will possess exceptional communication skills to clearly articulate security-related design decisions and address cyber security inquiries.
Responsibilities include:Reviewing and offering constructive advice on architectural designs from a cyber security standpoint.Leading the identification and resolution of security concerns within the ADA and TDA.Producing high-quality documentation and commentary on cyber security matters.Effectively conveying security concepts and controls to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Providing informed security advice to team members, stakeholders, and executives.Taking direction from the ITSA while representing them when needed.Facilitating and negotiating discussions to reach mutually agreeable decisions.RequirementsResponse must be as a one-page pitch addressing the essential criteria:In-depth knowledge of Australian Government policies and frameworks related to Government Services.
Strong ability to communicate technical concepts and demonstrate system features to stakeholders, team members, and executives.
Proven experience in facilitating and negotiating discussions to reach agreeable decisions.At least 5 years of experience as a security architect/security specialist.
Extensive knowledge of ISM, PSPF, and the IRAP process.
Experience working in large and complex ICT environments, particularly with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
Demonstrated expertise in Azure cloud services and Office 365, including Azure AD, OMS, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.The ideal candidate will possess strong IT skills and relevant work experience, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and the capacity to exercise initiative and sound judgment.
They must be able to work effectively as part of an agile team and communicate well with a range of internal and external stakeholders.Please note: Remote working arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the supervising manager, subject to business needs.
