The Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (VP, CFO) Foot Locker APAC is responsible for providing direction to senior management in all areas of Finance, with the challenge of maximizing the operating unit's profits. The position requires both theoretical and practical knowledge, as the incumbent will make high-level, executive decisions regarding the operations of Foot Locker APAC.
Responsibilities
1. Develop company financial objectives for both long-term and short-term operations in conjunction with the VP, General Manager APAC, and strategize to achieve these objectives.
2. Review and approve operating budgets and conduct financial reviews to monitor performance.
3. Forecast financial results and gross margins weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
4. Provide in-depth expense and gross margin analysis, driving corrective actions and improvements.
5. Perform balance sheet reconciliation and accrual analysis.
6. Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant accounting for all areas of Foot Locker APAC, based on corporate policies and legal requirements, including US GAAP.
7. Participate in operating review meetings, providing strategic direction and decision-making.
8. Engage in margin discussions related to sales, markdowns, shrink, and discounts; develop and train staff in these areas.
9. Implement internal controls considering Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
10. Manage risk and loss prevention measures to minimize company exposure.
11. Oversee store payroll, expenses, and operational finance aspects.
12. Lead and direct the finance team, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
Qualifications
1. Experience in senior management roles within major mass merchant or department store sectors, with a strong retail background in finance, store operations, and merchandising.
2. Proven expertise in finance, including accounting, payroll, G/L, tax, and risk management.
3. Strong financial analysis skills with a record of expense control and budget adherence.
4. Knowledge of US GAAP and Australian financial regulations.
5. Experience working with public companies and fiduciary responsibilities.
6. Ability to attract and lead high-caliber teams.
7. Excellent supervisory, delegation, organizational, and communication skills.
