Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is a Strategic Industry Partner for the development of the Australian Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise with goals to enhance self-reliance, supply chain resilience, and developing a guided weapons manufacturing capability in Australia. The Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO) will oversee the execution of GWEO initiatives.
About the role:
As a member of the MFC Finance and Business Operations team, the Program Finance Analyst is responsible for delivering core Program Finance activities, including financial performance review, variance analysis, forecasting, invoicing, and customer financial reporting. The role involves detailed assessment of contract status, actual costs, estimate at complete (EAC) and cashflows to evaluate impacts on program financial performance and forecasts. It also includes delivering accurate, timely reporting with clear, driver-based insights to support informed decision-making, while ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Support contract setup, order booking, and maintenance of program financial structures in line with contractual requirements.
* Contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis, including labour, materials, cash flow, profitability (ROS%), backlog tracking, and OSEC (Orders, Sales, EBIT, Cash), incorporating risks and opportunities into program forecasts.
* Perform financial data extraction, reconciliation, and analysis across multiple systems to ensure accurate reporting, forecasting, and data integrity.
* Review and reconcile supplier invoices and accruals, ensuring accurate cost capture and variance analysis against forecast and actuals, including impacts to Estimate at Completion (EAC).
* Analyse program financial performance, including contract status, cost allocation accuracy and variances to plan and forecast, providing clear insights and commentary to support decision-making.
* Deliver financial reporting, invoicing, and customer deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to contractual and financial reporting requirements.
* Maintain robust financial records, documentation, and audit trails, and support cost and rate reviews and internal and external audits.Collaborate with program teams and finance stakeholders to resolve issues, support financial processes, and provide program-level insights.
About you:
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA) completed or in progress.
* Demonstrated experience in program or project finance, including financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, invoicing, and cost management.
* Experience working within a complex, large-scale, multinational, or matrixed corporate environment.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial performance, identify key drivers and variances, and communicate clear, evidence-based insights and recommendations.
* Experience handling large and complex datasets across multiple systems, including data extraction, reconciliation, manipulation, and transformation, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with experience using ERP systems and financial reporting tools to analyse, reconcile, and present financial data.
* Ability to develop clear, structured financial workings and articulate assumptions, methodology, and outcomes to support recommendations
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, while taking ownership of deliverables, communicating clearly and responsively, and working effectively both independently and within integrated program teams and cross‑functional finance environments.
As well as the above any experience in the following would be highly regarded:
* Knowledge of Australian Government (Commonwealth) financial and reporting frameworks.
* Experience in engineering, project-based, or Defence environments.
* Experience in process improvement and enhancement of financial systems, processes and procedures.
