Mount Fox State School is seeking applications for a dedicated Teacher Aide to join the school on a permanent part-time basis at 24 hours and 0.63 FTE per fortnight.The successful applicant will work with students from Prep to Year 6 in a small school environment. We are the central hub of an isolated but united community. It is a picturesque, one-teacher school, with fantastic staff and enthusiastic students.We are an active member of the Ingham cluster of small schools. Our principal participates in the North Queensland professional learning community with other small school principals. Although Mount Fox State School is in a remote location, the students are involved in interschool sporting, educational, and cultural activities throughout the year. Our remote location does not hinder active participation in extracurricular activities.Our school employs professional support staff (teacher aides) to work with students on targeted learning needs. This high teacher-student ratio allows us to differentiate learning and set individual student targets.Our vision is to provide a well-rounded education focused on the basics; high expectations for all students to achieve excellence; and fostering self-confidence, respect, and fun.About The RoleAs a Teacher Aide, you will support the provision of quality education by assisting teachers, students, and parents with learning activities and administrative duties in a supportive environment.Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited ToSupervision of small groups of students during specific learning activities designed by a teacher.Conducting reading, maths, art, and sports activities, including resource gathering in cooperation with teachers.Supervision of students in the playground, bus, during sports, and excursions with the teacher.Administrative duties such as typing, compiling, duplicating materials, recording results, and assisting with off-site activities.Supervision of students when the teacher is not in the room, available if needed.Mentoring other teacher aides and volunteers.Please refer to the attached role description for mandatory requirements.How To ApplyPlease attach a brief resume with contact details for 2 referees familiar with your work history.We welcome all applicants and support inclusive recruitment.
