FourQuarters is working with an International Bank to add an experienced AML Assistant Manager to its Financial Crime Compliance team, focusing on Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Monitoring. The Assistant Manager will support the day‑to‑day oversight and delivery of AML/CTF monitoring activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory obligations and industry best practice. This is a 6‑month contract role with potential for extension; please apply only if you are immediately available to start.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Monitoring
* Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts.
* Conduct analysis on customer activity, unusual patterns and potential red flags.
* Escalate suspicious activity investigations and prepare comprehensive case files for MLRO/SAR/SMR reporting.
Sanctions Monitoring
* Analyse sanctions alerts, including name screening and payment screening hits, to determine true or false matches.
* Conduct enhanced due diligence on escalated sanctions cases.
* Support sanctions advisory, including ad‑hoc checks, operational queries and thematic assessments.
Governance & Reporting
* Prepare high‑quality investigation summaries, internal reports and escalations.
* Assist in producing MI, trend analyses and incident reporting.
* Contribute to internal and external audit queries related to AML and sanctions monitoring.
What we are looking for:
* 4–6+ years' experience in AML/CTF roles within banking or financial services.
* Strong hands‑on experience in transaction monitoring, including escalation handling.
* Solid understanding of sanctions screening, global regimes and investigative processes.
* Well‑developed analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data and behaviours.
* Experience using monitoring/screening tools.
* Strong written communication, investigation documentation and decision‑rationale skills.
