The Role
As a Field Assistant, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to align with annual crop planting and harvesting plans. You will undertake weekly travel to growing areas within the Orana region and monthly travel to growing areas in Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage contract growing operations with the Sweet Corn Specialist.
* Act as a first point of contact between Simplot and contract growers.
* Develop an annual planting schedule in close conjunction with contract growers.
* Provide best practice advice to growers on cropping solutions.
* Undertake regular visits to growing operations and manufacturing facilities.
* Provide regular communications and reporting to the wider Raw Procurement team.
About You
* You have 100% commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace.
* You possess agr-related tertiary qualifications and exposure to cropping e.g. sweet corn, brassica, cereal crops.
* You are customer-focused, able to build long-term relationships with growers and Simplot stakeholders.
This is a varied role that requires self-starting and working unsupervised. You will be required to travel for work and must hold a current C class driver's licence. Chemcert and LF forklift licences would be advantageous but not essential.
