Therapeutic Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Therapeutic Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering therapeutic interventions with children and young people who have experienced significant trauma.

Key Responsibilities:

* To work closely with staff to deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions, assessing needs of children and young people and working in partnership with internal services and external agencies to address these needs.
* To collaborate with staff to develop and implement Treatment Plans, providing therapeutic trauma-informed supervision, training, support, and consultation to staff, carers, and volunteers.
* To work at the forefront of evidence-based practice and research, creating supportive therapeutic environments responsive to emotional, social, and educational needs.
* To provide individualized support to young people and engage them in processes, supporting transitions such as entry and exit into different programs.
* To implement therapeutic models of care into service practice, facilitating group-work sessions for young people and staff as required.
* To coordinate and lead Care Team Meetings and Reflective Practice for staff, completing assessments and coordinating collection of assessment and outcome data.

Requirements:

* A strong understanding of therapeutic interventions and their application in a trauma-informed context.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, young people, and staff.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with best practice in the field.
