About the position
Reporting to the CEO the role of CFO will support entrepreneurial growth projects and exceptional portfolio management while running fit-for-purpose, compliant workflows, and reporting, and overseeing CleanCo's strategic and trading risks.
You will lead all key finance, financial analytics and reporting, and trading risk functions and provide advice on all related matters to the Executives and Board to drive results in line with CleanCo's strategic aims. You will have responsibility for corporate finance, financial control and treasury functions including annual and mid-year operating and capital budget functions. You will be a key contributor at CleanCo's Audit Risk Committee and at the Board and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a long-term corporate financial plan for the organization. You will provide advice on project financing structures and will be the primary contact for Treasury and Queensland Treasury Corporation, ensuring the company has the funding it needs to grow the business. You will be responsible for managing CleanCo external auditor and for ensuring the financial accounts and reports are prepared in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards.
You will take accountability for building a connected and aligned culture, as a key member of a tightly integrated Executive Leadership Team and providing leadership and coaching support to your own team of talented and engaged professionals.
You will develop effective, resilient working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders ensuring financial, legislative, and regulatory obligations are adhered to, and you will support the implementation of current business improvement initiatives including process redesign and system upgrades and streamlining.
Additionally, your strong analytical skill set will enable you to partner with teams in CleanCo's customer, trading, and development functions to support excellence in portfolio management. You will help build commercial capability across the business and develop innovative solutions that deliver better outcomes for CleanCo's future large capital projects and customer partnerships.
About the person
An experienced finance professional with at least 15 years relevant experience you will possess strong commercial, business and analytical acumen, with the ability to think strategically and influence outcomes across all stakeholder levels.
A member of the Executive leadership team you will have proven experience in managing teams in an environment of continuous improvement, coupled with extensive experience in providing financial and corporate advice at an Executive and Board level.
With a desire to keep the customer at the heart of all activities it is envisaged that you will have previous exposure in the Electricity sector or a similar industry, and experience navigating compliance and reporting requirements applicable to a government-owned corporation or similar context will be highly regarded.
**Qualifications**:
You will be a certified accountant or possess a Bachelors of Business or Finance degree or equivalent. An MBA is desirable.
