Position Information
Drummond Memorial Public School serves 230 students across various educational settings including 101 Aboriginal students; 126 Non-English Speaking background101 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 126 students from a Non-English Speaking background. The school offers 10 mainstream classes catering to students from Kindergarten to Year 6, along with two Multi-Categorical classes, a Tutorial Centre (ATLC), a Suspension Centre (Karayuna), and an Early Intervention class.
Our school is committed to enhancing student learning and wellbeing through thoughtfully designed programs. We strongly emphasise Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and implement evidence-informed literacy programming. We support our diverse community and collaborate closely with our dedicated Parents and Citizens (P&C;) Association to provide student support and fundraising initiatives.
This position is a permanent part-time position (3-days per week).
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Infants & Primary library, or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
- Demonstrated capacity to teach students how to access and utilise information and provide them with quality literary experiences.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team, help colleagues access information, and stay up-to-date with the latest information management and information technology trends.
- Demonstrated ability to be highly organised, resourceful and can manage and implement a stimulating library learning workplace, including the physical and digital resources.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
A permanent part time teacher for 3 days per week 0.6FTE (Full-time equivalent) vacancy exists at Drummond Memorial Public School. If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.
