Embedded Linux Field Engineer – Devices/IoT

This career opportunity requires a unique blend of skills. Successful candidates will have deep knowledge of Linux, be proficient coders and scripters, and possess experience with low‐level Linux boot, BIOS, EFI, Secure Boot, firmware, OS distribution packaging and embedded software development methodologies. They thrive on the pace of change, enjoy diverse client engagements, and are dedicated team players who take pride in both individual and company wins.

Responsibilities

* Engage customers during presales to gather requirements and explain our technology
* Develop solution proposals for prospective clients
* Participate in the delivery of select Embedded Linux projects
* Convey market requirements to key stakeholders and help refine generic solutions to unlock market potential
* Act as both a customer advocate and a trusted advisor to Canonical

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
* Extensive Linux experience – Debian or Ubuntu preferred
* Distribution and packaging experience (deb, rpm, ...)
* Solid embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot, ...)
* Fluency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
* Professional written and spoken English, plus local language proficiency if required
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Result‐oriented and able to multitask
* Strong personal drive to meet commitments
* Humble learner and quick study
* Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time for customer meetings, company events, and conferences
* For Japan and Korea locations, professional proficiency in the local language is required
