About the role
Woodcroft College is seeking an experienced Middle/Senior School Teacher Librarian to join our dedicated team. This is a full‐time position based in a leading Independent school in the south of Adelaide. As the Teacher Librarian, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and informational needs of our students, while fostering a love of reading and learning. The role includes a 0.2 FTE teaching component (if the successful applicant is a qualified teacher).
What you'll be doing
* Collaborating with teachers to integrate library resources and information literacy skills into the curriculum
* Managing the school library collection, including selecting, cataloguing, and maintaining resources
* Providing individual and group instruction on information literacy, research skills, and the effective use of library resources
* Organising and promoting engaging library programmes and events to encourage student participation
* Assisting students with research, assignments, and project‐based learning
* Staying up‐to‐date with the latest trends and developments in school librarianship
* Contributing to the overall educational objectives and vision of the school
What we're looking for
* Relevant teaching and librarian qualifications and experience, with a focus on secondary education – SA Teacher Registration and Librarian qualifications are highly desirable
* Demonstrated expertise in library management, including collection development and cataloguing
* Strong knowledge of information literacy, research skills, and the effective use of library resources
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, teachers, and the broader school community
* Creativity and initiative in developing and implementing engaging library programmes and events
* A passion for fostering a love of reading and learning in students
