We’re now seeking a Finance & Payroll Officer to join our Finance team and play a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing and supporting strong financial operations across the Group.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this hands‑on role is responsible for the end‑to‑end processing of weekly payroll and providing finance administration support across the Group. You’ll work closely with managers and the People & Culture team, ensuring payroll data integrity, compliance with awards and legislation, and a positive experience for our team members.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, has a strong understanding of how to navigate modern awards, is detail‑focused and enjoys being a trusted go‑to person for payroll and finance queries.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll
* Managing the payroll inbox and responding to employee payroll queries professionally and promptly
* Liaising with departmental managers on payroll, rostering and timesheet matters
* Maintaining payroll data integrity within the payroll system (TANDA)
* Preparation and submission of monthly superannuation payments (soon to be weekly)
* Lodgement of monthly and annual payroll tax returns
* End‑of‑year payroll processing, reconciliations and WorkCover declarations
* Maintaining knowledge of relevant Fair Work, Awards and implementing changes as required
* Assisting with onboarding and termination processes in collaboration with People & Culture
* Preparing weekly payroll and ad‑hoc reports for management
* Supporting finance functions including month‑end processes, journal entries, reconciliations and accounts payable
* Assisting with broader finance administration and process improvement initiatives
About You
You’re a highly accurate and detail‑driven professional who takes pride in getting things right. You’re confident working independently, communicate clearly, and enjoy collaborating with managers and team members across the business.
You’ll bring:
* Demonstrated experience in payroll processing (weekly payroll experience highly regarded)
* Strong understanding of award interpretation and payroll compliance
* High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
* Sound experience with reconciliations and basic finance administration
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
* A professional, approachable manner when handling confidential and sensitive matters
* Experience in hospitality, clubs or community‑based organisations (desirable, but not essential)
