Job Overview
The Oral Health Professional plays a vital role in delivering quality healthcare to the community.
Key Responsibilities
* Examine patients, diagnose dental/oral conditions, prescribe treatment, and carry it out or direct others to do so, following clinical protocols and guidelines.
* Record patient interactions and medical history accurately in their dental records.
* Educate patients on oral health-related conditions and disease prevention.
* Participate in staff meetings and committees as assigned.
* Prepare reports for the management team as requested.
* Contribute to continuing education, on-the-job training, and staff orientation.
* Develop and implement department policies, protocols, and procedures.
* Provide technical assistance and health education to the community as needed.
* Participate in program planning for the Department.
* Consult with the management team on health issues as necessary.
* Travel as necessary and attend meetings to represent the organization.
* Coordinate programs and services with other center programs and services.
Requirements
* Degree from an accredited dental school.
* Completion of an accredited residency program is preferred.
* Fluency in Spanish preferred.
* Knowledge of public health principles and practices preferred.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
* Clinical privileges and licensure requirements must be met.
* Licensure and credentials: unrestricted license to practice dentistry in New Jersey, CPR (BLS) certification, ACLS preferred, CDS and DEA registrations, Medicare and Medicaid provider numbers.
