With your skills and experience, you can contribute to the millions of ways we're enriching health, and develop your career as part of the largest health organisation in Australia.

Achieve Something Great
Join South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) in a meaningful role that directly supports the delivery of safe, high‑quality and person‑centred healthcare to one of NSW’s most diverse communities. As an Internal Auditor, you will play a key part in strengthening governance, risk management and internal controls, contributing to public trust and the long‑term sustainability of the District. Working within a supportive and experienced Internal Audit team, you will collaborate on a broad range of audits — including clinical, operational, information systems and performance reviews — where your work creates visible and impactful outcomes. You will also be part of a values‑driven organisation guided by the Transforming Your Experience strategy, focused on improving experiences for patients, staff and the community.

Are You the Right Fit?
You bring strong attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy and the ability to interpret policies, analyse complex information and deliver high‑quality audit observations. As an effective communicator and active listener, you engage respectfully with staff at all levels and translate technical results into clear, actionable insights. You value integrity, transparency and good governance, and enjoy contributing across varied audit types that extend beyond traditional audit roles. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with Senior Auditors and Internal Audit leadership while managing your own workload and milestones. You hold relevant tertiary qualifications and are a current or aspiring member of IIA, CPA, CA or ISACA, with a commitment to ongoing learning and adherence to standards including GIAS, ISACA Standards, Australian Auditing Standards and NSQHS Standards. Confident in using Microsoft Excel, Word and process‑mapping tools, you can interpret legislation and NSW Health policy frameworks, and you are able to work standard business hours (with flexible arrangements available) and hold or can obtain a valid NSW C‑class driver licence.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

1. Associate, full membership or working towards full membership with IIA Australia, CPA Australia/New Zealand, ISACA or CA Australia/New Zealand. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Law, Healthcare Management (or related), Nursing, Allied Health or Information Systems and relevant extensive work experience.
2. Describe a time when you identified a compliance risk related to policy, legislation or standards. What action did you take, and what was the result?
3. Please describe your experience working with NSW Health or Australian Government health policies or regulations. Provide an example of a situation where you applied a specific health policy, directive or legislative requirement in your work.
4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
