As a senior accountant, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial landscape of our organization.
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our finance team and contribute to the success of our business.
About the Role
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Delivering accurate and complete month-end reporting, journal entries, and maintenance of accruals, provisions, and prepayments.
* Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, managing tasks such as commission calculations, JV reporting, fixed assets, intangible assets, sundry invoicing, and banking administration.
* Supporting ongoing forecasts, variance analysis, and collaborating with commercial finance to deliver annual budgets, with a focus on centralized expenses.
* Preparing data for external audits and statutory reporting, and managing tax and compliance obligations including FBT, GST, income tax, WHT, and payroll tax.
* Driving enhancements in accounting policies, internal controls, and business processes, while maintaining organized support and process documentation.
* Liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, responding to finance queries, contributing to ad hoc projects, and acting as a backup during team absences.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* 2+ years of experience in a similar role/environment.
* Intermediate Excel, MS Office, and ERP system skills (SAP experience highly desirable, but not essential).
* Significant experience in financial accounting and preparation/review of general ledger accounts and trial balance.
* Demonstrated experience utilizing fundamental business accounting skills related to income tax, FBT, and GST.
* Ability to add value and assist in the development of enhanced processes.
* High levels of accountability, attention to detail, and resourcefulness.
* Exposure to media industry highly regarded.
