Tier II Network Technician
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tier II Network Technician to support our WAN and LAN networks. This individual will be responsible for incident resolution, routing changes, firewall changes, and subject matter expertise in WAN and LAN technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices
* Incident ticket response and resolution
* Standard network change request drafting and implementation
* Support for Tier III network engineers in incident management and projects
* Configuration management functions such as updating topology drawings, ensuring asset management records accuracy, and conducting inventory
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
* Layer 2 switching (VLANs, Port Security, Thin Configurations)
* COMSEC custodian duties for handling, storage, and safeguarding cryptographic materials
* Inventory control and accountability of COMSEC equipment and related documentation
* Encryption device installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
* Network security operations ensuring COMSEC integration aligns with overall cybersecurity requirements
Requirements:
* TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
* 8 years of experience in a combination of work history and education (Master's and 2 years, Bachelor's and 4 years, Associates and 6 years, or HS Diploma and 8 years)
* Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
* Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals and layer 2 switching concepts
* Familiarity with Cisco/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes, Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience, and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models
