Azalea Collective at Bankstown Sports Club is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to proactively generate new business and drive revenue growth across corporate, conference, community and private events.
This is a senior, outbound-focused role suited to a high performer who thrives on building pipelines, developing strategic relationships and converting opportunities into contracted events.
As Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in expanding Azalea Collective's market presence and positioning us as a preferred events destination. Operating against clear revenue and activity KPIs, you will own the end-to-end sales cycle while working closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless transition from enquiry to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
* Proactively identify, prospect and secure new business through outbound activity, networking, referrals and partnerships
* Develop and execute targeted acquisition strategies aligned with revenue goals
* Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
* Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract execution
* Prepare, present and negotiate tailored event proposals and contracts
* Conduct site inspections and client presentations highlighting venue capabilities
Networking & Brand Representation
* Attend industry events, expos, conferences and networking functions
* Position Azalea Collective as a leading events destination
* Strengthen relationships with corporate clients, agencies and community groups
Client & Account Management
* Drive repeat business, upselling and long-term account growth
* Maintain ongoing communication with past and current clients
* Ensure smooth handover of confirmed events to the Event Management team
* Monitor competitor activity, pricing and market trends
* Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and performance reporting
* Partner with senior leadership on revenue forecasting and strategy
About You
You are a self-motivated, commercially minded professional with a proven ability to consistently exceed revenue targets. You will bring:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in sales, business development or account management within events, hospitality or a related sector
* Strong industry knowledge and understanding of event sales, logistics and market trends
* Demonstrated success in lead generation, negotiation and closing complex deals
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence
* Strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
* High-level organisation and time management skills
* A proven track record of increasing revenue and margins
* Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
* The ability to work flexible hours when required
