About the role
Senior Electrical Engineer (Building Services) to deliver impactful projects across Northern Australia and beyond. Ideally based in Cairns, Darwin, or Mackay; we welcome strong applications from other Northern Australia locations.
In this role, you will work closely with the Team Leader, Building Services, providing technical expertise, design, documentation, and project management for a diverse range of infrastructure, buildings, water, transport, defence, mining and other projects. You will thrive in a motivated, multi‐disciplinary team that values collaboration and innovation.
Responsibilities
* Lead innovative electrical design for diverse building projects that make a real difference in Northern Australia's communities.
* Collaborate with passionate colleagues and clients to deliver sustainable, future‐ready solutions.
* Provide technical leadership and client liaison, acting as a trusted advisor and preparing proposals, reports, and cost estimates.
* Drive project success from concept to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
* Mentor and inspire junior engineers, helping shape the next generation of technical leaders.
Qualifications
* At least 6 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer in the Building Services environment, and ideally with a consultancy background.
* Be a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) or have a mutually recognised registration (e.g., CPEng, RPEV).
* Deep knowledge of electrical standards, codes, regulations, and renewable energy solutions, with proficiency in industry software (AutoCAD, Revit, PowerCAD, AGi32/DIALux, Microsoft Office).
* Expertise in technical report writing, fee proposals, cost reporting, and stakeholder liaison, including local authorities and utilities.
* Strong communication and technical leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
* Outstanding client service skills, with a genuine enthusiasm for building relationships and driving business growth by delivering exceptional support and solutions to our clients.
