Job Description
The Finance and Investment Services team is responsible for leading the development of budget strategy, providing financial advice and support, while ensuring the management of public funds aligns with Government legislation and the Department's Enterprise Plan.
As a key member of this team, you will contribute to the effective financial management of the Department's grant programs. You will work closely with program managers, grant recipients, and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, accuracy, and strategic alignment in the use of public funds.
Key Responsibilities
* Support financial oversight of grant applications, disbursements, and reporting.
* Assist in preparing timely and accurate financial reports, budget adjustments, and cash flow analysis.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including system administration and debtor management.
* Administer purchase card access and provide staff support.
* Provide financial advice aligned with departmental and Treasury policies.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of government financial systems (e.g. Basware) and grant management regulations.
* Strong data analysis and reporting skills, especially in Microsoft Excel.
* Proven commitment to client-focused service delivery.
* Experience in financial analysis and presenting information clearly.

Other Information
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), short-term contract position until 30 June 2025. A Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) will be required prior to employment.
