Account Manager – Role Overview
The primary purpose of the Account Manager is to manage and grow existing customer accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and identifying new revenue opportunities.
The role serves as the main point of contact for key clients, coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions, resolve issues, and meet business objectives.
The Account Manager will travel regularly to client sites to maintain strong relationships and support business development efforts.
Responsibilities
Manage, develop, maintain and grow key accounts
Prospect for new business in new and existing accounts
Identify and pursue upselling or cross-selling opportunities
Territory planning, reporting and pipeline management
Monitor and track account performance against KPIs and sales targets
Identify customer needs and provide an appropriate solution that best meets that need
Develop solid relationships and rapport with customers and internal stakeholders based on trust and mutual respect
Help identify and address customer issues by connecting them with the right resources
Conduct regular client visits, check-ins, and business reviews
Qualifications & Skills
Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication
Strategic thinking and ability to identify growth opportunities
Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite
Financial acumen and understanding of pricing models, margins, and ROI
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or associated experience in a like role
Minimum 5 years' experience in Account Management or Sales, preferably in a similar industry
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding account growth targets with a proactive, customer-first mindset
Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly
