Early Childhood Social Worker
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Kindergarten Social Worker in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will provide social work services to children and families in our early childhood education and community service settings. You will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other stakeholders to promote the best interests of children and support their wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide social work services to children and families in our early childhood education and community service settings.
* Work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other stakeholders to promote the best interests of children and support their wellbeing.
* Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks and promote protective factors.
* Develop and implement individualized support plans for children and families.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting children and families.
* Provide coaching and mentoring to educators to build their capacity to support vulnerable children and families.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A Bachelor's degree in social work or equivalent qualification.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the Best Interests Principles, Children Youth and Families Act (2005), and Child Wellbeing and Safety Act (2005).
* High-level risk assessment skills and an understanding of protective factors.
* Experience in case management and support for vulnerable children and families, coaching and mentoring staff, and working in early childhood education and community service settings.
* Ability to work collaboratively across early years, therapeutic and family support services.
* Familiarity with the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) framework.
* Strong interpersonal skills including rapport building and family-sensitive practice.
* Valid Driver's License.
* Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
