Senior Insights Analyst, Data Analytics and Research Salary: $113,022 – $136,747 plus superannuation Classification: VPS-5 Tenure: Ongoing Hours: Full time (flexibility may be available) Location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available) The Role We are seeking a curious and analytical Senior Insights Analyst to support evidence-based decision-making across the Victorian TAFE Network and the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery (OTCD). In this role, you will interpret complex data, provide high-quality performance reporting, and apply advanced analytical techniques to support strategic priorities. You will play a key role in identifying trends, refining analysis methods, and improving how insights are communicated to senior management and key stakeholders. The role also involves consultation with TAFE institutes, central agencies, and other stakeholders to provide advice aligned with TAFE Network sustainability and performance initiatives. Key Accountabilities * Deliver evidence-based analysis that informs policy development and operational decisions. * Apply innovative approaches to data analysis and presentation to enhance understanding of system performance. * Prepare advanced technical reports and insights for senior management and stakeholders. * Undertake complex independent research, analysis, and interpretation of performance data. * Contribute to policy development or research by applying complex analytical concepts. * Manage a discrete function with limited budget or staff responsibilities. About the Team The Senior Insights Analyst sits within the TAFE Performance, Finance and Infrastructure branch of OTCD. This branch provides system leadership across the Victorian TAFE Network, overseeing performance, financial management, accountability frameworks, and sustainability initiatives. OTCD works with twelve independent TAFEs and four dual-sector universities to strengthen network performance, align training to industry needs, and ensure students are job-ready. About You You are an analytical, detail-oriented professional with experience in performance reporting, data analysis, or research—ideally in government or policy settings. You have strong critical thinking, data literacy, and communication skills, and can translate complex information into clear, actionable insights. You thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy problem-solving, and are motivated to contribute to continuous improvement in a large and complex system. Experience in tertiary education or knowledge of state and Commonwealth skills policy is advantageous.
