This is the ideal role for an experienced Buyer within the retail industry in footwear.
You will be required to build strong relationships with both internal teams and suppliers to achieve the outcomes of the role.Your key responsibilities will include:Range Selection & Assortment Analysis:Develop a range selection in line with business and consumer needs:Ensure category/gender/seasonal trends are reflected in rangingIdentify sales trends highlighting best and worst performers and areas of opportunityEnsure assortment depth and size curves are relevant and in line with sales trendsAnalysis of category performance, macro market (domestic and international), direct competitor, customer and store feedback and trends to build deep understanding of the customer and the businessBrand Partnerships:Brand partner negotiation including negotiating best financial cost for all product, markdown assistance and/or rebatesManage and maintain strong brand partner partnership to ensure market leading assortmentLiaise with Brand Partners and Marketing to ensure successful launches and campaign executions, delivering strong ROILiaise with Brand Partners reporting successes and giving feedback on the retail performance of assigned brands, reviewing inventory and forward order opportunities and risksSource new and relevant brands to enable category growthPlanning Partnership:Work with Planner to review performance and forecast by brand, manage inventory and OTB in line with business targetsWork with Planner to strategise forecast, and purchase core items in line with company objectives and inventory targetsIn-Season Trade:Daily review of sales highlighting opportunitiesWeekly in-depth review of portfolio and delivery of performance/suggested actions at Trade MeetingsRegular reviews of forward order and current inventory hold, highlight opportunities/risk and action with Planning, Retail and Brand PartnersWork with Marketing & Retail Teams to ensure key items are promoted and featured in campaignsSenior Team Communication:First point of contact for all Senior Leadership regarding any queries, issues or feedback regarding assigned brandsPresent to Senior Leadership and Store Teams regarding assigned brand strategy, trends, product knowledge and what is coming for assigned brandsTo succeed in this role, you will need to have the following:Demonstrated previous experience in a retail buying role ideally with retail apparel / footwearA passion for driving sales and achieving profit marginsThe ability to manage and maintain multiple supplier relationshipsProficient in Excel – analysing data and managing reportsExcellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with various stakeholders at all levelsAbility to create, plan, monitor and execute multiple reportsAt Accent Group Limited we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and inclusion.
