Daily Tasks (Responsibilities)
Build positive relationships with young people and your fellow team members
Follow a routine developed specifically for a young person's needs
Transport young people to and from school, day programs and appointments
Complete activities and enjoy mealtimes together
Assist in the implementation of programs designed for growth and development of young people
Complete summary notes
Help create a safe and homely environment for them to live in and enjoy
Required Qualifications and Checks
Essential Criteria:
Current Working with Children Check (for paid employment)
Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; Course Code HLTAID003)
National Police Check (obtained via employmentscreeninggroup.com)
International Police Check for applicants who have lived continuously for 12 months or more in another country within the last 10 years
A current driver's licence
Willingness to participate in a Worker/Carer Exclusion Scheme Check
Current NDIS Worker Check (can be obtained via service.vic.gov.au)
The Following Qualifications Are Mandatory For This Role:
Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention; or
A recognised relevant qualification (if you are unsure please ask)
All residential care workers must complete the three mandatory units of competency within the first 3 months of employment if not already obtained:
CHCMHS007 – Work effectively in trauma informed care
CHCPRT009 – Provide primary residential care
CHCCCS009 – Facilitate responsible behaviour
