Family Support Specialist
The Family Support Program is a government initiative that helps families with children who have disabilities or developmental delays. It offers regular group meetings where families can connect with others, share advice, learn about local services, and build important skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-on-one support to families, meet with them individually, offer helpful information and connect them to other services.
* Run sessions on parenting topics to help families feel more confident and supported in their role.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A diploma-level qualification in a relevant field or currently completing/willing to undertake a Diploma.
* Tertiary qualification in Disability, Mental Health, Education, Social Work, Community Services, Counselling, Allied Health, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the NDIS, health, education, or parent and family service systems.
