The role
Full time, 12‐month fixed‐term position. Band 3 salary ranges from $63,922 to $68,397, plus industry and maintenance allowance and superannuation. Work schedule: 8‐day fortnightly roster, 9.5‐hour days, Monday‐Thursday. This role involves operating and maintaining mowing equipment across council parks and gardens.
Responsibilities
- Operate mowers, whipper snippers, edgers, blowers and hand tools for bulk mowing, cut‐in and edging functions.
- Work within a team of six to service premier park areas and reserves on Toro 5910 and 360 plant.
- Maintain equipment through basic daily servicing and pre‐start checks, submitting tech‐based recordings.
- Ensure safety compliance and follow all‐weather operation procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience as a mower operator and knowledge of relevant equipment.
- MR truck licence and ChemCert certificates preferred.
- Capacity and fitness to work in all‐weather conditions.
- Safety conscious, excellent time‐management and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong customer service focus, sound communication and interpersonal skills.
